“Learners are leaders,” said Sarah Moretti, store owner
A Terrace thrift store has expanded its free book program from every Saturday to now Sunday as well. Nestled in the corner of the store, the book room also has free board games and puzzles.
“It’s one of the things that brings people here on the weekends,” said Melanie Kramer, store manager of What’s In Store Terrace.
“It just makes for such a good vibe in here, seniors come in, young people too,” said Lindsay Thiessen, retail assistant.
Their book room is stocked with donations every week, so there is always a new selection.
“[This allows] Terrace to recycle and reuse books that otherwise may sadly end up in landfills or recycling centres,” shared Kramer.
“Free book days are an exciting treat for customers of all ages, but also one of many ways What’s in Store gives back locally, where it matters,” she said. “[We also] offers its Kids Bag Sale every Tuesday, half price Senior’s Day every Wednesday (for 55+ & accompanying shoppers), and the famous Fantastic Friday, half price across the entire store, for everyone, the first Friday of every month.”
Located in the city’s downtown, the thrift store has been in the city since July 2020. Sarah Moretti began the What’s In Store shopping experience with their Kitimat location in 2008 and has since expanded to Terrace, as well as Fort McMurray in 2023.
They offer a variety of items including clothing, art, decor and more.
The store is at 4552 Lakesle Ave. and is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, and 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
